The SORA 2 Plus is the 2021 version of our SORA 2. It incorporates several technical developments as well as a new, more dynamic look.
The SORA 2 Plus has a new look that is a little more airy and dynamic, with the addition of a colored band on the lower surface leading edge, as well as 3 new colors.
The tabs are made with a new braid. This was designed specifically for Supair by a French company, following a strict aeronautical protocol, according to Supair’s specifications, allowing breaking values beyond anything else on the market to be achieved. All batches of braid are tested for breakage at the end of production with a minimum resistance requirement of 150 kg.
This tab is unique on the market and is intended to be the strongest there is. It can be identified by its color, white with a red border.
A reinforcement has been added to the load-bearing profiles on approximately 2/3 of the glider starting from the center. This reinforcement is a strip positioned exactly in the axis of the line, starting from the upper surface to the attachment tab (on A, B and C).
The carefully placed NITINOL profile reinforcements guarantee the glider’s hold and inflation behavior throughout the life of the product.
CHOICE BETWEEN FRICTION RING OR PULLEY
The strap that holds the friction ring is secured by a lark’s head, making it very easy to replace the ring with a pulley.
The SORA 2 Plus comes standard with the friction ring but it also comes with the pulley to allow pilots to use the configuration of their choice.
FLYING THE SORA 2 PLUS
It retains the steering qualities that made SORA 2 such a success.
Still with exceptional inflation and landing characteristics, the SORA 2 Plus offers precise steering abilities. With very few pitch oscillations in turbulent air masses, it prevents the pilot from early exhaustion and provides the passenger with an even more enjoyable flying experience !
During the development process of SORA 2, the team’s ambition was clear: We needed to design a worthy successor to SORA 1. In addition to excellent handling and a pleasant and efficient turn, the main qualities of its predecessor were its simplicity of use, its reduced weight and its performance. The result is a wing that is easy to disentangle, light and at the top of performance and speed.
A slightly higher control firmness allows a more precise turn than the SORA 1 and the new structure as well as the use of the Sharknose offer a glider which deforms less on the chord in thermal.
The SORA 2 PLUS is also equipped with risers with optimized ergonomics (more distinct main hooking loop, trim strap marked on 4 different speeds).
